Flagler County is a unique community nestled in a beautiful setting with a relaxed feel and none of the hustle and bustle of a fast-paced city. Flagler County is an outdoor enthusiasts' dream with beautiful beaches, unspoiled parks, countless trails to hike, bike or horseback, and miles of canals for kayaking and boating. At first glance one might perceive this as a prosperous community, but in fact many citizens face severe economic challenges. Our school district is comprised of over 13,000 K-12 students from over 45 different countries speaking 35 languages. Currently, 57 percent of our student population qualify for free & reduced lunch plans, and Flagler County has the highest unemployment rate in the state at over 14 percent. We touch an extremely large percentage of this population.
Since our inception in 1990, the Flagler County Education Foundation has awarded over 1.5 million dollars to support education. We are proud of this grass roots effort, we rely on donations from individuals, businesses, and grants. Will you be a part of this effort? Your support directly impacts teaching and learning in our already outstanding schools!
